Baby Cake Smash Shoot...vintage style!

A cake smash shoot is nothing but fun fun fun!  Little Tilly here came over to our Hertfordshire based studio recently and we celebrated her first birthday with a vintaged themed cake smash shoot.  There were giggles, a lot of mess and some fabulous memories made!

Pendley Manor is a dream venue for any couple looking to get married in Hertfordshire.  Set in the beautiful Herts countryside it is surrounded by rolling hills, immaculately landscaped gardens and quiet country lanes

As Pendley’s recommended photographers, it is always a pleasure for us to go back and visit this superb venue as we know each couple are going to enjoy a day nothing short of perfection.  This was most certainly the case for Ben and Victoria who chose an early Spring wedding at Pendley this year.  

As a professional photographer, moments like this are exactly what our job are about.  They say a photograph tells a thousand words and isn’t this just the case?!  The look of pride from Father to Daughter accompanied by her Mother’s unconditional love is exactly the kind of moments every little girl dreams their wedding day will be full of.  

All girls dream of walking down the aisle but how about an incredible wooden staircase to make your entrance even more grand?!  Well what bride could say no to that?

Once the couple laid eyes on each other, the excitement became very real.  These were the moments they had been waiting for.

A beautiful ceremony in The Oak Room at Pendley was followed by a burst of sunshine which brought the gardens to life.  As the guests enjoyed their drinks and canapés, we snuck off outside to create the first portraits of the new Mr and Mrs!

The party continued, followed by an overwhelming welcome from their guests as Brian (Pendle's famous toastmaster!) lead the couple through to their seats.  The speeches brought tears, laughter and a true sense of what this couple's family meant to them. 

As the evening party began there was just one more moment for us to sneak off with the beautiful couple and create a portrait which represents the start of their new journey as they look into future together...

In all the madness there are some quiet moments when as a bride you dream of the day ahead. 

This is one of our absolute favourite Bridal Portraits of the beautiful Charlotte on the morning of her special day...simply stunning!

Christmas Wedding at Lulworth Castle...

So just what is it that makes a couple choose a certain time of year to get married?  Some love the warmth of the summer sun and the long evenings of September whilst others hope for the frosty mornings of winter with their guests snuggled drinking Winter Pimms around an open fire more appealing.

This gorgeous couple Charlotte and Rob chose 18th December to wed at the incredible Lulworth Castle and what a day they had!  For Charlotte, a winter wedding was her dream as Christmas is her favourite time of year and due to her work commitments rarely gets to spend the festive season with her loved ones.

Charlotte and Rob's wedding was full to the brim with personal touches from crackers around the tables with their names on them to a surprise horse and carriage (secretly booked by Charlotte's lovely mum.)  You can see her reaction when she heard the clip clop of hooves arrive along the sweeping drive of the castle!

Even their Wedding Cake was a small replica of Lulworth Castle...what an amazing idea!!!

A Dream Wedding in Italy...

Well...what can get more romantic than a summer wedding in Italy?  Do you live in England and dream of a wedding overseas?  Well here is a little inspiration from Tricia and Pri's stunning wedding in the heart of Italy.

The wedding day began with the Bride and Groom's preparations at the gorgeous Abruzzo Marina Hotel located right on the beachfront.  The excitement in the morning was hard to be contained as family and friends began to gather in reception, very excited for the day ahead.  Tricia and Pri both remained calm despite a few little nerves and rather a lot of excitement!  

After just a short coach ride we arrive in a stunning old village filled with cobbled streets and eager locals peering out of shops fronts and windows.  Within a few minutes we we reached a beautiful cathedral tucked away.  As guests began to take their seats awaiting the bride's arrival we snuck off down the old streets with The Groom's Party...

As Tricia walked down the aisle to meet her soon to be husband Pri, guests looked on them with love and admiration.  There was something rather special about having wedding abroad with all those around you who matter the most, knowing they have traveled all the way to Italy to share your special day with them.  

After a beautiful (and warm!!!) ceremony the guests made their way to Villa Chiara whilst we remained behind with the happy couple to photograph them together as a married couple for the first time.  

The view at Villa Chiara was nothing short of breathtaking, whilst the flowers and alfresco dining looked like something from an Italian Rom Com!!

If ever there was a romantic location to have dinner...this was it!  The tables were decorated with hydrangeas and vintage roses and the fairy lights than twinkled in the trees as the sun set.  For all those worries you may have about getting married abroad, this certainly made it all worth it!

The evening continued with guests dancing under the stars with cocktails flowing and everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves.  Weddings are wonderful things, they really are and as a photographer it is a privilege to be asked by a couple to capture this for them.  We often get asked why we love weddings and one of the main reasons is that if ever there is a time for emotions to be shown then this is it.  As we photographed Pri with his parents on the dance floor it really brought a tear to our eye as he thanked them and hugged them for all they had done.  What an incredible moment to witness and capture.

Stunning Mother of The Bride Outfit...

A Dream Beach Wedding on the Dorset Coast...

This summer we have been very fortunate to photograph many weddings at the stunning Highcliffe Castle starting with Claire and Jame's big day in June.  This lovely couple enjoyed a beautiful ceremony in The Wintergarden which overlooks Highcliffe Beach followed by a reception at Christchurch Harbour Hotel.  The sun shone and the waves crashed at we hit the beach for their couple portraits.

The vintage seaside theme for Claire and James' big day was absolutely perfect!  Congratulations to a beautiful couple on what can only be described as a perfect day!

Baby Max's Newborn shoot...

Well yesterday was just heaven!!!  We had the pleasure of photographing baby Max and at just three weeks old he was quite the model!  Just a year ago we photographed his Mummy and Daddy's wedding at the amazing Highcliffe Castle in Dorset and yesterday we met little Max for the first time to photograph his newborn shoot.  Here is a little look at one of our favourite newborn portraits of him yesterday...

Heather and Matt's September Wedding at The Priory Barns, Hitchin

Heather and Matt shared their Wedding Day with close family and friends in a beautiful ceremony at St Peters Church in St Albans.  The happy couple then went on to enjoy sunshine, laughter and the stunning surroundings of The Priory Barns in Hitchin.  This wedding was so personal from start to finish with the multi talented Matt making Heather a vintage tandom bicycle, the wedding cake and many of the decorations for the barn.  We were very privileged to photograph such a lovely family day...

Engagement Shoot in the Hertfordshire Countryside...

Congratulations to Nicole and Aaron who are getting married next year.  We had great fun recently out on location for their Autumn engagement portrait session.  With all our weddings we include a complimentary engagement shoot for all couples which is a great way for us to get to know you and for you to feel completely relaxed by the time your big day comes around...

A Dream is a wish your heart makes...Dan and Louise's Disney Inspired Wedding!

On the morning of Dan and Louise's wedding we arrived at The Sandbanks Hotel to find a room full of smiling bridesmaids and lots of Disney wedding accessories...this wasn't just a beach inspired wedding...Mickey Mouse had a special place here too!!!  Louise loves Disney and so of course the Disney theme ran through the wedding with fairytale music from start to finish, a Mickey Mouse wedding ring cushion and table names such as 'Frozen' and 'Toy Story.'  

Dan and Louise's ceremony at The Sandbanks Hotel was in a beautiful room with oodles of natural light and a stunning sea view...as soon as Dan saw Louise the emotion was overwhelming!  There was not a dry eye in the house...it was simply beautiful...

Guests gathered on the decking for the drinks reception whilst the sun shone.  Laughter, tears and champagne...the three key elements to any wedding!  It was so evident how much this couple meant to their families-what an absolute privilege as a photographer to be in a position to capture this for Dan, Louise and their families on such a wonderful day.

As the storm clouds gathered over the beach we took the happy couple off for their arty wedding portraits together.  As a wedding photographer this has to be our favourite part of the day...having time on our own with the couple to create some beautiful memories of their love for each other.  

As Dan and Louise jet off on their Disney Cruise into a beautiful sunset, we want to wish them every happiness in their ‘Whole New World’ as husband and wife!

Mikey and Claire's Vintage Barn Wedding...

August is the perfect time of year to get married and what better venue than a stunning barn in the heart of the Northamptonshire.  Dodford Manor had everything a couple wanting a country, vintage style wedding could ask for!  When the morning of the big day arrived, Claire's family welcomed us with open arms!  We had so much fun photographing the bridal preparations, the details Claire had chosen were classical, complimented with bright pink flowers...the perfect choice for an english rose wedding!

Mikey and Claire's friends really were the life and soul of the party, the wedding party jumped at the chance to partake in fun, arty wedding photographs!  We also had the privilege of meeting Vintage Trikes...a traditional ice cream trike with a great choice of home made ice creams...it went down a treat with all their guests!!  

After a beautiful dinner came some truly wonderful speeches...emotional, heart felt and funny!  We knew Pete the best man would do a great job on his speech as had previously photographed his wedding in 2011.  It is always lovely to be recommended by a couple whose wedding you have captured to their friends.  

We were privileged to be Mikey and Claire's professional photographers, thank you again for choosing us.  Another wonderful barn wedding in 2014!!!

Anna and Ant's Wedding...

Anna and Ant had what can only be described as a fun, relaxed and family day from start to finish.  I don't think we have ever seen a bride so chilled before the ceremony!!!  This couple have been just the most wonderful people to get to know and follow their journey.

Anna and Ant's wedding took place at the amazing Dodmoor House which is run by Carolyn and her team of wedding experts.  This venue truly was like something out of a movie, set in the heart of Northamptonshire's countryside it is surrounded by fields of blossom and willow trees, it was simply exquisite.  Here is a sneaky preview of some of Anna and Ant's romantic portraits at sunset...we literally can't wait to show them the rest of their photographs tomorrow...

Emma and Jack's stunning Dorset Wedding...

It really is such a privilege to be asked to photograph any wedding but there is something super special about when it is your friend's big day!  Emma and I met on our first day of school aged just five years old and here we are all those years later photographing some incredible memories from wedding day in May.  What an emotional, beautiful day it was with lots of laughs, tears and joy!  Congratulations Emma and Jack on a stunning wedding...

Anna and Tim's Wedding, Lulworth Castle

After months of planning Anna and Tim's wedding arrived on 2nd May and what a day it was.  Their girls Chloe and Sienna looked stunning from the moment we arrived at Hotel Du Vin, the excitement in the bridal suite was buzzing!  As the morning whizzed by and we made our way to Lulworth Castle Tim was waiting for Anna to arrive in what can only be described as a horse and carriage from a fairytale!  Their ceremony was simply beautiful in the church on the castle grounds which was followed by a drinks reception on the lawn overlooking the sea!  From start to finish this wedding was like something from a magazine from the design of Anna's dress to the flowers and styling of the castle...take a little look and see what you think...

Lucie and Barry's Vintage Wedding at Lulworth Castle...

Love...vintage...romance....perfection!  What a stunning day Lucie and Barry had at Lulworth Castle recently.  April Showers were nowhere to be seen and the sun shone on this beautiful day.  We can't wait to see them at the weekend to show them the rest of their photographs...

Sarah and Kevin's magical Studland Beach wedding...

Well this was a wedding to remember...Sarah and Kevin had the most perfect day recently and we had the pleasure of photographing it!  Although storms had hit the Dorset coastline just a couple of weeks before, what the heavy rain left was beautiful pools of water on Studland Beach which captured the most incredible reflections.  We have found it so hard knowing which image to share on here and really can't wait to show them their images in a couple of weeks...
